ABOUT ME
I have lived in Florida all of my life with my family of eight—five sisters, no brothers. My mother’s diligent work homeschooling us laid the foundation for the artist I am today, allowing my sisters and myself copious quantities of time to write scripts together, turn the courtyard into a fortress, and our Razor Scooters into dragons while pursuing our classical education.
I draw inspiration from the late nights my siblings and I spent exploring the world of Tolkien and the adventures of the girls in Little Women. While all six of us have found various niches in the arts, I found my home in writing, much like Jo. I am currently pursuing double major in Creative Writing Degree and Studio Art at Florida State University with intentions to graduate in spring of 2026.
A few of my favorite books/series include The Queen’s Thief by Megan Whalen Turner, Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis, and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstien. Learn more about my professional experience below.
ABOUT MY MISSION
I create written and illustrated media for the next generation, so that in my creative efforts, they might see the glory of their Creator. My work always begins and ends with my Faith and combines narrative, illustration, and bookbinding. In other words: I create books. Each them starts by gleaning an element from biblical principles, whether it be mercy, loyalty, or honesty. I springboard off of these to craft characters changed in the same fashion I was changed by my Faith. Wielding these values, I carve out magical spaces kids can explore: with goblins and elves while giving them a dose of truth and awe at the same time.
As an author, I write short stories and novels which toe the line between magical realism and high fantasy.
As an illustrator, I give stories a visual dimension and breathe life into a name on the page. I lead quirky fairy-tale characters through their adventures using a mixture of digital art, letter press, screen, and relief printing.
As a bookbinder, I repair bibles and assemble notebooks which may be used in the early days of the first two components of my practice.
Often, these three facets of bookmaking come together to create artist books with interactive elements. My words, illustrations, and paper culminate into pop-ups and pull tabs. I believe creating is required for human flourishing as much as eating. It is my goal to
prepare a hearty, nutritious intellectual and spiritual meal for readers of all ages and with it, give them a taste of the fantastical truths I have come to know.
